Loretta Ciraldo, MD, F.A.A.D.
Dr. Ciraldo has maintained a private practice in cosmetic and general dermatology since 1983. Before this, she was Assistant Professor of Dermatology at New York Medical College in New York City and chief of Dermatology at the Bayley Seton Hospital. She currently teaches cosmetic dermatology at University of Miami Medical School, where she is a Voluntary Professor of Dermatology. Dr. Ciraldo can also be seen weekly as the medical correspondent on the Sunday edition of "Today in South Florida", which can be seen on NBC 6 from 9:00-10:00AM. Dr. Ciraldo's achievements also include the founding of a physician-distributed skin care line. In 1993, unhappy with the scope of skin care products available for her patients, Dr. Ciraldo founded CosMedical Technologies, a line of skin care which she formulates. These are sold through private label to physicians in forty countries worldwide. She also writes a monthly column for the publication Les Nouvelles Esthetiques and a quarterly column for the Plastic Surgery Assistants Network Publication. Her busy schedule includes lecturing, which encompasses talks given all over the globe. She recently lectured to the Caribbean Dermatology Society, the Middle Eastern Dermatology Society, and the Plastic Surgery Assistants Association, as well as many local groups. Her communication skills have been noted by the Florida Medical Association, which recognized her as an Outstanding Physician Communicator for 1999. She maintains active membership in many professional organizations and was President of the Miami Society of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery in 1992. Since 1996, she sits on the board of Directors of the Miami-Dade County Medical Society. She holds the position of Fellow of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgery and is a Co-Chair for the State of Florida for the Dermatology Foundation, a national dermatologic research organization.
